Project Description:

As part of the plant security system modernization project, a pilot video analytics system was implemented for 26 existing CCTV cameras. The main functions of the system were smoke and fire detection, as well as monitoring compliance with occupational and industrial safety requirements, including detection of workwear and personal protective equipment (PPE). The plant already used the Honeywell Experion PKS process control system. Therefore, the video analytics system was integrated with Experion PKS, and the operator screens were updated to display video analytics events and related information.
